What is cycle awareness?

Cycle awareness refers to the practice of understanding, tracking, and working with the natural hormonal and physical changes that occur throughout the menstrual cycle.
  • Tracking menstrual cycle phases: menstrual, follicular, ovulation, luteal

  • Recognising patterns in symptoms like PMS, bloating, cravings, sleep, etc.

  • Adjusting lifestyle choices (e.g., foods, workouts, social plans) to align with the body’s needs in each phase

  • Improving communication with healthcare providers by understanding what's “normal” for your body

  • Supporting hormonal balance through nutrition, rest, and stress management

Why it's valuable:

  • Helps identify irregularities or imbalances early

  • Encourages body literacy and self-trust

  • Can improve outcomes for those managing conditions like PMDD, PCOS, or endometriosis

  • Promotes preventive health and personalized nutrition
